🌿 How It Works — The Science of Cold Plasma

CoolJet Pro operates using a stream of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), a state of matter where energized particles interact with the skin’s surface at comfortable temperatures (typically 35–40 °C).

Rather than using heat or abrasion, CAP gently energizes the skin environment.

Studies on CAP in dermatology have observed that this interaction can:

  • Support the skin's natural renewal processes .

    • This is primarily through mechanisms like stimulating collagen/elastin production, promoting fibroblast proliferation, enhancing cell turnover, wound healing, and epidermal repair.[1][2][3][4]

  • Reduce surface impurities and help create a cleaner skin interface  [3][4][5][6][7]

  • Balance the skin's microbiome reducing the presence of problematic microbes.

    • Peer-reviewed studies demonstrate that cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) balances the skin's microbiome by selectively reducing problematic microbes (e.g., Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus) while increasing beneficial/resident bacteria diversity (e.g., via Simpson's Index improvement), aiding conditions like acne and atopic dermatitis.[7][8][9]

  • Encourage balanced hydration and smoother feel through mild stimulation of the outer skin layer.

    • Peer-reviewed studies and clinical data support cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) encouraging balanced hydration (via transepidermal water loss/TEWL reduction, moisture retention) and smoother feel through mild stratum corneum stimulation (e.g., pH reduction ∼0.3 units, lipid modification, microcirculation enhancement without altering temperature/moisture directly).[1][4][10]
